Welcome to the International Theoretical Physics Olympiad official web page. This olympiad is designed by a group of PhD students and PostDocs for undergraduate participants interested in research in theoretical physics. The upcoming online team contest on January 30, 2016 will consist of 6-7 problems and will last for 24 hours. You can find sample problems here.
The agenda is as follows:
Participants have to team up into groups of 3-5 people and register team online before 5:00 AM EST, January 29, 2016 (registration opens on November 30).
The contest starts on 5:00 AM (Eastern Time) on January 30, 2016. Problems will be released in .pdf format on this web page for registered teams.
Participants will have 24 hours to solve problems and upload scans/documents with their solutions using their team page. Although we can accept almost all possible formats, the .pdf is the preferred one. The deadline for submission of all files is 5:00 AM (Eastern Time) on January 31, 2016. You can update your uploaded files as many times as you want before the deadline, so please don't wait till the last minute unless necessary.
We encourage participants to use textbooks and online materials published before the beginning of the contest, however any kind of discussion of problems with anyone who is not in your team is strictly prohibited and may lead to a disqualification of the whole team.
